Description:
The first post-war summer, the Czech-Polish-German borderlands. The people of the Berhof solitude become prisoners of the Vérvolfs who refuse to accept the defeat of Germany. Conflict is conceived here as an analysis of the extreme human situation and characters, in which it oscillates between extremes. The central character of the narrative is the nun Salome, who brings anything but the expected mercy to the lonely farmhouse. One of her opponents is a Czechoslovak lieutenant (played by Milan Kňažek), who tries hard to restore order. One of the best Czechoslovak films of the 1980s, based on the novel of the same name by Vladimír Körner, still captivates with its elaborate script, cinematography, music and actors' performances.
